‘Sweet, it’s Sundae!’ is an exploration in fluid acrylic of an ice cream sundae (just in case that’s not clear ;). Creating The Sundae series of works reminds me of the sundae building process itself: ice cream, more scoops, syrup, lollies (candies), sprinkles etc. The fluidity of the acrylic paints gives a playful and whimsical quality to the piece, aiming to evoke feelings of nostalgia and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. It’s a mulit-layered piece of acrylic pours and skins, and I’ve used some watercolour techniques (with acrylics) for the glass.
